ADULT CHOIR

We are affiliated to the Royal School of Church Music. We meet most weeks during the Autumn Term

to prepare for the various special services - Harvest, Remembrance, St Andrew's Day, Advent
Sunday and Christmastide. In the early Spring we gather to prepare for Lententide & Easter.

Starting date and time for Choir Practices will be posted here in due course.

The Choir are a happy bunch, flexible, and committed. Do come & join us if you enjoy singing. Currently we sing at Communion on the 2nd & 4th Sundays of the month. 

Some of our singers and musicians join with Cantus Firmus / In Harmony events

at the Cathedral, under the baton of Richard Hubbard.

In March of 2020 we were all set to give a thoughtful evening - Roads to Freedom - slavery issues, BLM,
and reflecting on the Clewer Initiative work to prevent Modern Slavery. Lots of music to join in. Unfortunately, we were unable to do this owing to the Covid lockdown but we hope to present this in  2023.

In the past we have prepared music for 'A Little Britten Evening' to celebrate the composer's Centenary of birth, and presented two very successful  Variety Concerts in the Burness Room. (2014 & 2015)

- lots of fun for everyone & audience participation!

We welcome all musicians who wish to give us a concert or an open rehearsal in our church - in the past we were pleased to have Trianon, Martlesham Brass, Jazz Galore, Diversions, and Illuminati singers.

 plus a tradition of Sunday afternoon concerts for students.

 In 2021, under covid rules, Eliza Burkitt (violin), and her friends from  Guildhall School of Music

gave us a splendid concert.  Eliza  is now in her final year (2022.)
